To stay in one of our Montenegro hotels, just drive 20km south of Dubrovnik airport and the coast road crosses the border from Croatia into another country. Montenegrins share a language similar to their Croatian neighbours, have the same Slav origins, and the same Adriatic sea. However they are proud of their differences and spent hundreds of years successfully repulsing the Ottoman, Venetian, and even Napoleon´s armies. As in Croatia, the influence of its more powerful neighbours has left its mark in the buildings of the attractive old towns, which decorate its coast; but to the modern traveller who takes a Montenegro holiday what really distinguishes the country is the concentration of dramatic and beautiful geographical features within such a small area.
