Brac is one of the easiest islands to get to from the port at Split. Regular ferries run from early morning to late in the evening; so it is very easy to get to a Brac apartment. This is an attractive island with pretty waterside towns like Supetar, the harbour at which the ferry docks, as well as Bobovisca and Bol which is a pretty fishing villa of grey stone houses with a little harbour overlooking the straits between Brac and Hvar. Bol also has good windsurfing and diving facilities and plenty of good tennis courts. The steeply rising hillside provides some hard walking; the highest point on the Island is Vidova Gora (778 m) at the summit of which there is a plaque commemorating special forces and Scottish Highlanders who died there in the Second World War.

Croatian Affair has villas and apartments in Brac at Luka Boboviska, Splitska, Postire, Sumartin and Milna. Each one of these can be a perfect base with several shops and restaurants nearby. There are plenty of places to swim as well; in particular if you stay at our Brac apartment in Splitska you are right by the water- a small path leads you down to a rocky shore where you can sunbathe and swim. You can also stroll along a promenade that goes from this Brac apartment into the centre of Splitska where there are several restaurants such as Vala or Kod Tonca where you can eat outside overlooking the water. If you stay in the Brac apartment at Postire you have a fantastic terrace right above the sea and the charming fishing village is an easy stroll away and has seafront restaurants such as Lipa and Bavaria; a pebble beach is also just 20 metres away.

If you stay in an apartment on Brac it is very easy to make a day trip to the mainland. You can hop on one of the regular ferries from Supetar or Bol to Split and spend a day exploring Split centre or maybe even going up the coast to visit the enchanting centre of Trogir. Both these centres are full of interesting history and architecture and for a bit of relaxation you can walk down the Riva seafront which is full of cafes and restaurants. On the Island itself you should in any case make a visit to the south side and spend a day on its most spectacular beach called the “Golden Cape”.
