It is very easy to get to your Dubrovnik villa. You just collect you car hire at the international airport and the town is just 20 minutes drive away. Your Dubrovnik villa will not normally have outdoor lawns; but you will have a garden with colourful Mediterranean plants and shrubs. Also you will usually have an outdoor terrace with barbecue, since there is nothing more a Croatian enjoys than to show off this cookery skills over a barbecue. This is the best way to spend an evening with friends or family. Start your meal with some prosciutto (local ham), and cheese. Then, using the best local olive oil, grill your freshly caught fish and accompany this with a salad and some Croatian red or white wine. Why not try the best wines from the Island of Korcula such as the white wines of Posip, Marastina and Grk or the red wines of Plavac and admiral.
From your Dubrovnik villa you can easily explore the the town and admire its fascinating medieval centre. Jump on a local ferry and visit one of the nearby islands of Kolocep, Lopud or Sipan. One of the best trips that you can do from your Dubrovnik villa is to catch one of the regular ferries to the Island of Mljet and have a wonderful day out in this fantastic National Park. You can go canoeing, hire bikes there or easily just stroll around the picturesque port of Pomena and then walk to the two salt lakes in the Park. One day you should drive from your Dubrovnik villa to the villages of Ston and Mali Ston, about one hour away. Apart from the ancient walls of Mali Ston you will be able to enjoy the very best oysters and shell fish that are harvested in the bay there.
