Istria Villa

Istria Villa
CLICK HERE FOR MORE VILLAS IN ISTRIA

Istria’s gentle landscapes entice you to see more of what lies within. Often called a “little Tusacny surrounded by the sea”, you can truly experience its unique atmosphere by renting a villa in Istria. Settle in to your home from home and when you are ready, a treat awaits you. Take one of the local roads from your Istria villa and let the landscape lead you through the little hills and small valleys, along the vineyards and olive groves, by the rivers and beside the golden sunflower fields. From afar you will see the green hills melt into a turquoise mixture that blends seamlessly with the azure sea.

We shall name only two towns here: Motovun and Rovinj. They are the opposing ends of your magic box of Istrian memories, and we will let you fill the rest of the box. Not far from your Istria villa, you might arrive at Hum, the smallest city in the world…. or you might find the Dinosaur’s footprints at the seaside below Bale, or the moonscape in the rocky region of cape Kamenjak at the tip of Istria. All of that is Istria, and much more. We leave it for you to enjoy when you have a holiday in a villa in Istria, so that you can take home many other colourful memories.

For centuries European cultures interacted in this region. The strongest of these influences always arrived from the Appenine peninsula which lies close by. The Romans left some of their most beautiful monuments here, such as the fantastic amphitheatre in Pula which you must visit from you Istria villa. The Venetians built here some of the most picturesque towns such as Motovun; and Italy has left such a strong trace that even today when you are on holiday in your Istria villa you will find that most of the population speaks Croatian and Italian, and the names of the towns are written in both languages.

When you stay in your villa in Istria you should make a trip to the lovely old town of Labin. It is fascinating to explore and has a mixture of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture in a number of Venetian palaces and churches. Climb up the narrow streets to the fortress “Fortica” which tops the town for a panoramic view of Cres Island and the resort of Rabac 5km below. Rabac and its bay are known for their pebble beaches and beautiful turquoise colour of the sea. Other places that you must visit from your villa in Istria include the dazzling seaside town of Rovinj and the historic centre of Porec.
